My helper just got his permit yesterday, he tested for all the endorsements except for hasmat and buses. I thought you could do that anywhere.

Absolute no drivers license at all?

    What happened? Prison maybe?

There is only one person in my lifetime who never had a license until her husband finally passed when she was in the range of mid 70's (She did not need one, with the two being married. With her being born in the 1914 year, (The 15th of 15 brothers and sisters) by the time she hit 16 cars were not that common in the depression era in the 30' where she was. Trolley Service pretty much went everywhere she needed to go in those days in Baltimore.

Learners is generally for learning, in school. Not for rolling OTR making wages in trucking.

Buddy of mine didn't have a license until he hit the age of 25 or 26. He lived in NYC though and just didn't need one.

Myself I find it strange, but a lot of young folks up here at least do not get their license, until well into their 20's and some even 30's. I had my own hay truck 2 years before I could get one, so the day I turned 16 I got mine, and went commercial the day I turned 18. Actually they called it a chauffers license back then. lol
