Glad I was out of there a day early (went through tue/wed) but dang, after watching the video of him skipping the emergency ramp I don't have much sympathy. Isn't that area plastered with signs saying 35mph for vehicles over 26k? Only thing worse than the driver is the people still trying to pass him, why in the world would you try to jump in front of a speeding out of control truck?
Anybody witness the fiery crash in Denver involving a trucker?

I wonder if I asked a homeless guy if he wants to clean my gutters for 50 bucks do I have to have an OSHA approved harness before he goes higher than 3 feet off the ground on a ladder. I mean if he falls and breaks a leg I'm on the hook

Let's just thank our lucky stars he wasn't on Loveland Pass, could have been a situation where he went off the edge and landed on a house full of people.
stwik and Farmerbob1 Thank this. -
On that particular mtn. He should have been going slow enough in the far right lane that most if not all 4 wheelers would easily be overtaking him... But he was not... He was nearly matching the flow of 4 wheeler traffic... Not sure if it was ignorance or stupidity... But it doesnt really matter now, its already done.Hammer166, stwik, Farmerbob1 and 1 other person Thank this.

Did you ever see that video on YouTube of that driver down in Mexico I believe lost his brakes I mean I was standing on the edge during the whole video he got all the way to the bottom where ever it was at, and you could see the look of relief on his face when he stepped out of that cab I thought he was going to faint.Farmerbob1, rank and Cattleman84 Thank this.

Interesting enough... I went to OCC in Costa Mesa for 3 years for construction and have a OSHA/CalOSHA 30hr (responsible person on site). The regs are 6 feet federal and 7 feet CA before a harness is required. Execeptions are just to name a few.... (A) If the scope of work would take such a time as to preclude the installation of safety harness gear (if it takes an hour to install safety harness gear, and the work would only take an hour, you are exempt)....(B) work taking place on ladders that are not affixed to a structure so as to facilitate the movement of the ladder as needed for work as long as work on the ladder is not taking place higher than 12ft (10ft federal)...(C) When working above 12ft (10ft fed) and less than 40ft (fed doesn't apply here) and (A) takes place, exemption applies except if more than one ladder is involved connected by ladder jacks is involved. Any time ladder jacks are involved above 12/10ft, a harness is required.
Annotations, A, B, etc are mine, but the rules are fairly clear. I'm certified in CA construction law as well as International Building Code and Law.Dan.S and Scottyotty1 Thank this. -
Doesn’t matter if he’s homeless or not that’s what’s confusing me. I have other employees not sure why this homeless guy is specialDan.S, deathB4decaf, COBB2070 and 1 other person Thank this.

I live in the land of the homeless. "5th largest economy I the world" and yet there's 25,000 homeless minimum here in the OC. I pay $600/mo for a room with full house privileges from a Vietnamese family (nice folks and treat me like one of the family members, many breakfasts and dinners free), but I also paid $700/mo for a studio in Reno a little while back. Here in SoCal I would guess it breaks down to 20% mental health and people who need help t ha t way, but are just too crazy to realize it and get help. 60‰ drug addicts who go in and out of programs like rehab and sober living situations, and 20% of people who just got ####ed and are getting ####ed because they can't afford housing while working. Even if I moved to a "less expensive" part of SoCal, I'd be paying between $1,100 to $1,600 plus utilities for a studio if I could find one. One of the reasons I want to get the CDL and explore and move.Dan.S and Scottyotty1 Thank this.
