Interesting, is it not? This is bigger than the usual trainee/trainer spats. This one isn’t a legal issue or even company policy, but it’s enough to warrant immediate dismissal from most companies. And it’s one of those issues that opie knows that you would side with the company.

I literally had 5 job offers last week. Turned down 3 of them because of the drive to work was an hr each way.

There is always as reason why someone is let go. In my case I had a hard time learning what I was needed to know. Some people learn faster then others, and in my case I wasn't learning fast enough. Orientation and the training that followed was a struggle, but I managed to get through it. Also there was a thing or two that I was weak on that I am currently working on. As for willing to go OTR, I was more then willing and enjoyed it. Personally, while going through the experience I came to the realization that I just did not like flat bed, but felt obligated in some way.

Don't ever do a 1099 as a company driver. That is a scam. They don't have to pay any of your taxes, workmen comp. Etc. Only do 1099 if your an O/O.

As long as you didn't hit anything, steal anything, or inhale anything, you should be good. Start filling out those apps.

Thank you for the encouragement. I did none of the above, but did come close to hitting a curb on a right turn. So right turns on my weakness that I am working on. One of things that I was told was that Comcar is changing and that they no longer want to be a training company. Because they decided this they are getting rid of people, and weeding out people who they think could be a liability.

You’re in luck. There’s a really long thread on how to make a right turn in this here forum.
