K&B Transportation takes a very unique approach with our company driver compensation. Not only do we offer our company drivers a top mileage pay, we also guarantee** our company drivers 2500 paid miles per week. Essentially, at K&B Transportation if you do not run 2500 miles in a given week, we will pay you the difference. This gives you the comfort of a solid weekly paycheck, week in and week out regardless of miles. No other carrier offers this type of stability to their drivers week in week out.TruckerDel Thanks this. -

Your problem is this ...
You are mentally trapped into the "gots to get miles" mentality.
Stop thinking miles and ...
Look for companies that base pay on percentages.dirttrackercm23, Lepton1, Intothesunset and 3 others Thank this. -
Here's a couple of coast to coast reefer companies then:
I've seen both these companies trucks here in Las Vegas, if that interests you:

I'm going to Cullman Alabama for a drop and hook. Then live load in Woodstock Alabama. I go to Muscle Shoals Alabama and Russellville Alabama. Then head back to Ohio.
I won't make it home this weekend so I get and extra $100 just for sitting at the truck stop for 34 hours. I get $0.48 per mile with a $1,000 minimum guaranteed pay every week. If I run the miles then of course I get paid more for all the miles I ran. They pay $20 per hour detention pay even if the customer don't pay them. That's kind of a trick because you almost never sit more then 2 hours loading and unloading.
Maybe it and opion to look at anyway. Your in their hiring area. No Northeast no touch freight

The money is good I made $62,000 last year. I would like more home time. They run 70 hours in 6 days or as close to that as dispatch can get you, they do a 34 reset every weekend at home or on the road. My opinion one day off is not not much time. I never worry about slow week because I'm guaranteed $1,000 minimum
They pay for parking at truck stop if you need it. You can't go crazy a book reserved parking every night. I'm hoping to get my second new truck this summer or fall my truck I got new and has 329,000 now. The new trucks have regular size sleeper and stuff and fridge and inverters. I have stand up sleeper it just a smaller one.
They have about the same 100 customers. That's how they know it almost never take more then 2 hour to load or unload. I drove cross country before so getting used to running 400-600 miles trip was different at first. Some loads are only 300 miles but drop and hook
I liked driving cross country and the one pick and one drop but the pay was never that great. Now I don't worry about the pay. The pressure is on dispatch to keep the truck moving. I get $1,000 no matter what. I found out dispatch is pretty smart on keep the loads going when they are on the hook. They don't let us sit while they look for a load. They pre book the loads so you know were you going next. That is good for the pay check. I find it can get a little old working as close to 70 hour every week but I like getting paid every week so I keep going.
The downside is, it basically 14 hour most days. You drive 11 hour and you might spend the other 3 doing a drop and hook or live load. Today I'm going a drop and hook at Walmart. The live load in Woodstock Alabama then driving my 10 or 11 hour out for the day.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
