If it concerns you, replace the entire leaking assembly with a pair of fresh new parts.
-
My biggest concern is this will dot put me out service if I get inspection the parts are under warranty still
-
Grease purging out of the cams and slacks is normal. As long as you aren't coating the brake shoes and they're adjusting I wouldn't be too concerned.
spsauerland Thanks this. -
Brakes are fine no oil on shoes or drums but this actually oil drips grease does not drip that's why I'm confused where the oil coming from
-
Probably just the grease seperating. Cheap grease or too high of temperature for the grease.

Oh ok I'll just have my mechanic check I got to take the truck in anyway for maintenance
-
Could just be the light packing grease some manufacturers use to ship them. Then the mechanic put in his own grease. After another grease job or two you’ll probably never see it again.
Not a concern, the DOT would be more concerned if they didn’t see any signs of lubrication at all.
I would just wipe it down to tidy things up a bit.AModelCat and Keepontrucking2016 Thank this. -
Yep, just oil separating in the grease.
nikmirbre Thanks this. -
Cheap grease was used. Nothing wrong with them at all.
