So??? 27 pages later. Did you give up on Casper yet? Is Tucker your new driver of Casper? Knowing how you didnt want me because my basement is a mess. Grin.

Cummins hasn’t convinced me they’ve solved the soot problem inside the motor. I’m also not a fan of Paccar. I have a new International with the A26 and it’s great. Mack/Volvo are a close second. Freightliner is better than Paccar in my opinion. I won’t buy a Cummins again.

It all comes down to if a fleet spec truck will fill your needs with minimal customizing.
When I was thinking about buying another truck none were available with the options I wanted and without the options I did not want. So to get the truck that would be best "for me" (that "for me" part is VERY IMPORTANT) I would have to order it. It would never be available on the used market. And some of my requirements are so at the core of the truck -- that buying a fleet truck and reconfiguring it was not financially viable. So I was down to order new or buy a wreck for the drive line and do a glider to my spec but very few of the power/trans combo I wanted were built so glider was not a real option. Glider/vs New would mostly work out to saving FET.
Because:
1) I do not like Crapcadias,
2) Wesern Star and Pete are Midroof with a fairing (not acceptable)
and 3) the Volvo Service network is pitiful where I run.
What I wanted was:
T680 high roof standard length 76inch sleeper (So I can stand up)
Single bunk (would prefer no passenger seat)
Cummins with 18 or 13 Eaton Autoshift (might have considered the 15, would not consider another 10)
single drive tandem axle (Rear drive axle, front lift able)
Up-rated front axle 13.5 k or higher (air ride preferred)
All disk brakes
And about a 240 wheel base. less If I could.ReeferOhio, WesternPlains and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
