My wife went to high school in Corpus Christi and we went to her 10 year reunion about 10 years ago. We both liked the area - I'd never been there before. I've been to most cities in TX and CC seemed different. I'm sure you'll like it.![]()

Had a melt down already! Didn't realize my little family needed me so much. I'm hating the loads I'm getting with this gig but my new driver manager is cool. After I had a fit he switched me to 4 weeks out 4 days off. I had to take a pay cut and be based out of Houston to do it. I know its not a great deal but I'm not in the mood to change jobs. Until I'm ready to seek out another unicorn job I'm going to go with the flow.
88 Alpha, austinmike, otterinthewater and 3 others Thank this. -
Now I don’t know your situation and can’t guess but here’s some words of encouragement.
If a foreigner who can barely speak English becomes an owner operator, you can do it too.
I think you can make a good O/O, might be time to try. -
Thanks..but I've already gotten that t-shirt.Opus, 88 Alpha, otterinthewater and 2 others Thank this.

Well. That's it. I've had enough guys. JB has treated me badly enough and I am freakin' done. Shame on them. I guess the rail job in Haslet has been a fluke. After all the schmoozing and bad deal making and apologies and assurances they give me a load with a 5 hour load time and a total of 800 miles for 3 days back to back with an unload that took 4 1/2 hours and this load that was a 3 hr live and a total of 350 miles. Truck IT.
Beginning job search 3-2-1. @Chinatown ? Now live in Corpus Christi 15 yrs experience mostly van dragging. super clean record. haz n tanker endorsement plus 6 months oil field fuel haul, 6 months salt water haul, and 90 days retail fuel delivery (there's a story why only 90 days but loved the work) Can't drive night shift. Biorythym won't allow. Appreciate any and all suggestions or leads.Opus, JoeyJunk, Western flyer and 4 others Thank this. -
Right now is not the time to do that.

Talk with JB about their dedicated accounts. Those pay well (better than OTR), and are usually local day shift jobs, home every night. You might have to relocate, but that shouldn't be a problem if you were willing to drive OTR and not be home at all.
Back out of that apartment lease while you still can.
