Dense fog??? I would not consider the fog "dense" and certainly did not contribute to the accident, the main contributing cause of the accident was the driver of the white truck was "dense".

He had a chance to stop at the stop sign.
Passed it up for a chance to kill somebody.

I do agree this driver was going too fast for conditions... But I do believe the footage could be misleading as to how dense the fog was... HD footage from a good dash cam nearly always appears more clear than how it appears to the human eye in actual reality.

I have personal experience with this... I was caught in a Blizzard this last winter in WY... Later I pulled the dash cam footage to show some friends. On the film visibility appeared MUCH better than it had been in reality. At times I was only going 15 mph because I couldnt even see the edge of the road, but on the film visibility never appeared to be less than 100-150 feet.

Regardless, the driver of the truck I feel is 100% at fault. He should have been driving much slower, and been paying closer attention.

The dash cam driver didn’t have his lights on also so if a driver did make the stop he probably would know he was coming until it was too late. Still the truckers fault for not stopping at the stop sign though.

Yep, and the cam always makes things appear further away than they are so what looks like 100 feet is less.

No light reflection before he hit the truck that would indicate if his lights were on.

I treat trucks like cars these days, idiots. Unless otherwise observed to be paying attention.
