That would be a great idea to add on to the truck.. High idle when brakes are set.. I bet it could be programmed into the ecm fairly easily with the newer trucks.. Wouldnt be much different than a pto id imagine

20190519_080520.jpg there is a kit for epa10 engines. Kit has o-ring, gasket and updated flex tube. I am replacing it now on friend's engine.

That's the oil return tube from the turbo. No big deal. It's just one of many places DD15's are prone to leak oil.

While you're working right there see if you can hear the crank case breather spinning and feel gas coming out of the exhaust port while the engine is running. Those breathers go bad with age too.

    Newbieboy and mhyn Thank this.

I think every o-ring on it will fail sooner or later. Someone at Daimler need to be taken out and shot.

I think I got a bad HP pump. This week it has started surging at idle like the FQV is going bad. I did a short PM, just oil and fuel filters, and found metal in the small fuel filter again. I hadn't seen that since the first PM after replacing the pump, but evidently it wasn't just a break-in effect. And as fate would have it, the pinion seal on the front rear end started leaking this week also. At least I'm not going to be missing out on any great freight rates.

You should feel a slight vacuum when you put your palm over the oil filler tube now.

    mhyn Thanks this.

I have replaced my pinion seal when truck had 500k miles. my old hp pump is good one but needs new shaft seal. I replaced it because I had new one at home. New pump was purchased on ebay year ago very cheap. the number starts with E and not R.
