Plate will be in their name.
Mike Mci Thanks this. -
make sure you put yourself or your personal company as lein holder on your title when you register your truck.
Dave_in_AZ and Mike Mci Thank this. -
What?
You dont change the title to get the plate.
Any company can provide the plate without any changes.
Title and plates are TWO DIFFERENT AND SEPARATE THINGS -
Yeah they didn’t ask me to change the title or anything I just have to use their plates and my insurance company wants to know who the truck is going to be registered to

I am amazed at how many people buy a truck and don’t understand these things.
The truck should always be titled in you name or your company name. If leasing to someone they can get apportioned tag under their name, my tag has my name on it as owner. They have to furnish liability and cargo insurance by law, you have comp insurance if you want it or you have a lien holder and then they will require it,
Company your leasing to will want you to provide unladen liability but they can probably provide it and do a settlement deduction.
Do you have a 2290 to provide to the carrier to get your tag?Dave_in_AZ and Mike Mci Thank this. -
It is a lot to understand everybody kind of made it sound really simple when I started getting into this a month ago I bought in closed on a house easier than this the company I’m leasing on with does offer all that insurance they want to give me a temporary card and then if you’re the truck after I pass the drug and physical test the problem that I have is the bank I’m financing with won’t except a temporary card and wants me to submit insurance with the signed contract like I stated before this is my first truck and I just want to cooperation the only real answers I got was on this form the salesman doesn’t know nothing company financing the truck really has no answers that 2290 company said they would help me with that when I got there I’m just kind of put out the fires as they pop up

You can buy your own insur. thru OOIDA and if you switch co. the insur goes with you instead of buying it over and over, OOIDA has alot of the info you need on their web site to read up on over mon.
Mike Mci Thanks this. -
Comp insurance to please the bank is easy to get. Look online, I use first guard.
The temporary card I assume is a temporary prorated tag, my bank has never known how my trucks or trailers were prorated, sounds like your bank is inexperienced with trucks.
All your bank needs is comp insurance and they will file a lien on the truck and it will be listed on the title.
I don’t think the bank will give you the title until lien is filed, maybe they just want to know what name to put on title,
Time to visit the bank and get things straight, your wasting days getting the truck on the roadDave_in_AZ and Mike Mci Thank this. -
Thanks I’m using diamer truck financing so they probably know a little bit about trucking they just want physical damage and liability coverage which I found through progressive but progressive wants to know who is the truck going to be registered under that’s why I originally asked a question about the base plate it’s easy enough to call the company Tuesday and get this info but like you said Time is slipping away I was just trying to get all this paperwork done and in the mail by Tuesday morning
