The other day skip was rolling and 370 in Illinois was trying to reach you. I think it was Friday or Saturday. I talked to him and others, but it was running north and south here so I couldn’t hear you. One day we will get a watergate. I’m 667 in Central Mississippi.

If the body of the truck is truly all fiberglass I would probably build a dipole for that thing. I've only seen one truck that was all fiberglass or plastic and that was the Kenworth T2000 and the Peterbilt 387. All the Freightliner Cascadias at my job have steel bodies and you can see the spot welds where all the panels are spot welded together.
Most Cascadias are all steel or aluminum bodies, and all you need is a short 8 inch braided ground strap to go from door hinge on door to door hinge on cab. Just 2 bolts.Last edited: May 28, 2019

rabbi, you sure about this ?

I took the door panel off and the mirror bracket that has the bird perch for the antenna bracket is screwed into a polymer thick frame (no ground there). The hinge for the door is metal, but again, its bolted to a plastic door frame and that is bonded to the plastic door skin. What is the max size in inches that you would use to ground the antenna? Mine is 72" right now. What is a dipole?

It could be titanium. It's highly doubtful though. Spot welds are unmistakable and do not exist with fiberglass

If it is a plastic door skin, a ground wire isn't going to be very helpful.
A dipole is two antennas put together opposing each other with different polarity.
I was just looking at a 2019 Cascadia which is the same body style you have and the door is metal. You can tell because the outer skin is folded around the door frame and crimped tight around the edge just like a normal car door.Last edited: May 28, 2019

Again your missing it, think what is a radiator and what is common mode current?
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I just spoke to a body shop that works on Freightliner Cascadia and he said they are all aluminum doors and the cab is also aluminum.
