I just listen to few when I'm about to fall asleep. "And oh, man" a Led Zeppelin, Def Leppard, The Who, Pink Floyd Etc.... Can make me last long for hours.
It's pretty much like, burning rubber without KY gel.

because you inquired-I listen to cassette tapes on which punk/older alternative music is located, some talk radio(am and/or fm and NOT LIBERAL);mainly though the cb and i listen out for the radar detector i am not supposed to have.
I need to add that often i merely listen to the truck and the turbo and then after eclipsing certain road speeds, during the most pristine conditions,I listen to the singing of the tires and the abnormal quiet, sans wind noise and the typical noises one would think are present at such speeds. It is a unique quiet that generally does not last long simply because-

Audio Books! John Sandford "Prey" series narrated by Richard Ferrone is my personal favorite. Jeffrey Archer and James Herriot audio books are good too. Couldn't survive on the road even one day without an audio book.

Can't stand talk radio, especially Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh. Would like sports talk radio but can't stand the amount of commercials... same reason I don't watch TV anymore.

My plan is to get some internet radio over the iPhone (I'm assuming I can do that) and just squeak by on the 17,000+ songs on the iPod. I also get a lot of podcasts for my talk radio: Alex Jones, the Greasman, the Chicken Whisperer, maybe a few others. Lastly, I think I'll purchase an NFL internet broadcast subscription so I can listen to my packers while I'm on the road, too. (again, assuming I can do that)

    Vets,
check out Pandora.com via your Iphone. I just listen to it online at home, but they have an app you can use via the Iphone I believe. Basically you listen to what you want, thumbs up or down on what you like or don't...and you can ignore stuff too.

My MOM screaming over my shoulder as we smoke the brakes down LaVeta Pass in CO. I Love All kinds of music, no news (depressing) Weather, CB, Ham, we have truckers net on HF and its fun to talk to people across the US.
