P.S.: AVOID ANYTHING THAT SAYS PARKWAY! ANYTHING! NO PARKWAY! . If you have a delivery in Manhattan and then have a pick up in the outer boroughs (Bronx/Brooklyn/Queens/Staten Island) go up 1st Avenue to cross the Willis Ave Bridge, that is the safest way, other bridges have height restrictions up to 12'6". 1st to Willis is the sure fire way for a 13'6 53'. From there you have Whitestone Expressway that brings you into Queens across the Van Wyck, LIE: Long Island Expressway (Queens Midtown Expressway upto Woodhaven to ease confusion) will bring you on and off the BQE: Brooklyn Queens Expressway. If you come across the Tri-Boro there is a 12'6" overheight restriction on the BQE you have to exit/reenter at both Astoria and Woodside, signs will guide you, roads are safe just stay wide on the round about ramps.
Parking has a three hour restriction in any area that is not an industrial zone. If you need to stop for the night for your next pick up, drive to the industrial zones and find parking: HUNTS POINT, BX/ SPRINGFIELD GARDENS, QN/ MAPSPETH, QN/ WILLIAMSBURG, BK/ FLATLANDS, BK.
There are no highways that cut across Brooklyn. From Prospect Expressway, turn onto Church Ave. From there you have Kings Hwy/Linden Blvd and Flatbush Ave. If you have a stop in Brooklyn east of Coney Island Ave/ South of Church Ave, there is an 11' height restriction. Head back up the Prospect Expressway from Church Ave and go around. If there are any other questions refer to the maps and links above. WATCH FOR JAYWALKERS!!!!! AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO DRIVE AGGRESSIVELY, everybody is in a hurry, the speed limit is 15 mph on the street and 45 mph on the highway so put that to some context and understand why.

    Hope this helps

Google earth your physical address of either shipper or customer. Eyeball the entire block and your prospective routes.

Yes absolutely. Open up that google maps and turn on satelite mode. Scout out your entire route before you cross the GW or Gorthels bridge.

Also, on top of previously mentioned tips, I typically write turn by turn directions directly on my windshield with a dry erase marker.

G-d-n me and my wasted life buying paper. AUGH.

You know what happens. Cabover notebook takes off under the passenger seat off the doghouse with a split coming in half a mile and a lane change. Choose carefully grasshopper.

Dont feel bad, someone enlightened me as well..... great thing is, at night, light makes even black marker look white, so it's still visible

Just remember that bridges in the city are marked a foot low, unless it says ‘actual height’ in which case....look out.

So just for clarity a bridge that is marked 13’6 is 12’6 or its 14’6?

Most are marked 12'6" and are actually 13'6" to allow for a foot of snow pack
