Just be careful with D.D. The payroll admin can withdraw as well as deposit.
Tombstone69, 0ntimetrucker71, adayrider and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'd wait for the mailman just like I do now. Sometimes I get checks from 8-10 states away. Sometimes they lay on the desk for 2-3 mores days before they get taken to the bank. My bank isn't open Saturday.
Just what Allow Me said, they can put in and take out. -
Not sure if Allow Me and adayrider are correct about that one. At a minimum I hope there wrong, or I never have to find out. I remember one time oooh about 12 years ago. Company paid me for a pack job. But I just loaded I didnt pack that job. Company asked me if they should just deduct it from my next settlement. Or spread out over payments? I told them to just take it back now instead. Gail the pay lady said she couldn't do that. But that was a long time ago. If I can remember I will ask the bank manager about it. You got me curious.

They are both right and wrong.
The employer can reverse the payment. There are limits though. It's a payment reversal so it must be for the full amount of the payment. No partial reversals are allowed. It's all or nothing.
The other big limit is the request must be done within five days. -
Also, those checks are not safe either. They can be cancelled too. I believe it's 90 days is how much time they have, but I'm not positive on the timeframe.

It was a fifty mile round trip from the office to our bank, so we had one of the machines I do not remember what it is called to deposit from home or the office, it went straight into the account in real time too, instead of waiting until 2 pm or some such a thing like you drove to the bank and deposited it.

Your right, they can stop payment on a check. I'm not sure about the 90 day part.
Check could also bounce vs direct deposit you would know sooner.
Nobody pays cash anymore.Tombstone69 Thanks this.
