You just gave me great information that I had no idea of. You’re 100% right though, there’s a lot of pricks out there! Thanks for your response, I appreciate it!

LOL, you have not had to deal with NM a whole lot huh. I tried all day to get a permit, 8 full hours, to move a house. They insisted I weigh it before they would issue me a permit. The next morning we started all over again, same thing. They could not give me a clue where any scales was that you could weigh a complete house on, so after a while I just told them I would go weigh it, and call them later but would have no need for a permit, because I would be within a half mile from where I was going anyway. lol
Just like crossing NM in any truck, you had to weigh first before buying your permit at the scales, the per mile fee depended on your weight.
In missery it was opposite, you pulled over before you weighed to get your fuel permit. The very first time I went to missery, I crossed the scale and pulled over and went in, he ask for my permit, oh yea HE stunk, were talking reeked, anyway I told him I needed to buy one. He smiled and said you should have parked over there, and not over there. and I ask what the difference was, answer 40 bucks difference, BUT drop your trailer and go back to the court house and wait till 8 oclock to pay the judge, then come back and park over there not over here and buy your permit. lol
Sometimes ya just have to grin and chalk it all up to gettin an edjumacation. lol -
Satan himself will rise from the depths and take the wheel laughing!!! As he pulls your truck off the road for the boys in blue, you will begin to hear a fiddle playing in the background. Time to make a deal with the devil son...

The Banning scales on I-10 both eastbound and westbound have cameras to record when CMV's bypass the scales. In fact all weight stations in CA have cameras that record the flow of traffic that doesn't enter the station. If they're actively monitored is another story. And I don't know if they record plate #'s and they send you a ticket, etc. Going eastbound (on I-10) I've only seen the scales open maybe 1/3rd of the time. Westbound is open every time. I've seen westbound so congested that I've seen the digital sign change from all trucks must stop to scales closed while slowing down to pull in. Being "local" has nothing to do with the requirement to stop. If you blow past it once, and you get stopped, you'll probably get a warning. Second time, definitely a ticket. Now you know it's there, don't bypass it if you don't have to.

I never stop there, because
Lepton1, COBB2070, MM71 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I personally have ran the Southbound San Onfre(I-5), Southbound Rainbow(I-15), and Westbound Banning(I-10) scales. At least once, But..... they where back up into the interstate and it would of been an accident to happened so I kept going with them being open. Neither occasion did they come chasing me.
Lepton1 and bottomdumpin Thank this. -
Want to blow the scales? Just run for a company located in fresno, bakersfield, stockton, chicago, etc ... Nie hablo انگلیسی ... cant read the sign, dont care about the laws or culture, no stop.
