A friend of mine rubbed their trailer up against the fender & bumper of a 379 other day in a rest area.

The officer gave them this paperwork to fill out from the Tn Dept of Security and Homeland Safety called an owner/driver report.

    What's the purpose of this?

The ######### thing is it says a driver can have his/her license suspended if they don't turn it in? Wtf? How does one state tell another state what to do? Lol.

I told them to throw it in the trash.

If you don't pay a ticket from another state your license can be suspended. It's no different.

I tipped one over in Ok years ago, the county deputy came out in miserable cold weather, mixture of snow and sleet. Instead of filling out the accident report, he gave it to me and told me to fill it out and turn it in. Yes sir, in the trash it went, never heard a word about it.

One of our dot officers here is actually paid by homeland security, I when I get an overload ticket, warning I get it on an inspection sheet as a fix it ticket that has to be signed and turned in within 15 days. I have forgot to do this a couple of times and got a letter explaining they were giving me one more chance before I was slated to be executed.

Never had that happen either. Hell I had a warrant in one state for 10yrs that I never knew about (long story). Yet my DL was never suspended in my home state.

Either way a ticket is issued by a law enforcement officer. This was just a blank sheet for her to fill out with her info that the officer already put in his incident report. She wasnt issued a ticket either.

Just found it weird that they require someone to fill out this random paper for some random agency.

He's got nothing to lose but his CDL.

It's not some random agency. They are over the Tn. Highway patrol. Maybe you should stick to telling mechanics how to fix your truck and company owners how to run their business.
