This is my input. Don't haul cheap freight and if your a broker and can't negotiate a good price. Tell the costumer maby next time. Don't slam the door just walk out. No harm no foul. I'm a O/o I give my rate on the line haul. If it don't work I move on. I'll park my truck before I pay to move anyone's freight. You know what it cost to operate your truck. And if your moving freight to make a truck payment oh... boy.... you shouldn't have started your own business. Hope for the best of everyone here.

It's the dollar store where it's really cheap. 1.00 for the same 4.00 walmart chips. Im not that stupid in paying 4.00 for chips if I can get it at the dollar store. Same pretzels from Hanover too... 1.00

I decide if a store lives or dies by my spending.

Sears once held a sale on riding lawnmowers if only I opened a credit card. free ramps too. When it was all said and done a 2800 dollars worth of stuff was on my pickup truck for oh... 1700 or so.

I returned the following morning ( A sunday) at 8 am, paid off the manager's in cash the entire 1700 credit card bill. Then instructed the manager to close the account on phone because I was deaf.

They closed the store 8 months later. You could rent anything across the free way for a day's little bit of money and work the hell out of it chopping logs, bush hogging or whatever now and then. No need to buy 2500 mowers that burn up inside of 10 years.

Now if I needed a three blade 6 foot wide dixie cutter with armor decking for 6000 once in this lifetime for that arkansas grass higher than a man, sure thing. (I bought 4 sears riders in my time around 2200 average price each over 20 years here.) That's more than one of those dixie cutters. Shows how stupid I was.

His account sounds like it is exaggerated for effect but I highly doubt that it is baseless. Surely there have been instances of drivers beating the heck out of trucks and leaving them at truck stops to be repo'ed.

In addition, your characterization of his views as ignorant and prejudiced are merely opinions, and we all know what those are worth.

Also, what is your basis for accusing his views as being reflective of truck drivers in general? That seems illogical to me. I certainly wouldn't form opinions of truckers and trucking based on one person's seemingly exaggerated and hyperbolic viewpoints. Now if 3 truckers told me the same story in one week, that might be different.

Lastly, how could you possibly speak to his level of education? Isn't that ignorant on your part? I've read thousands of books and if you feel that my viewpoint is ignorant, what is the relevance of that? Is ignorance in and of itself a crime?

Since we are apparently doing research and book reports, I recommend "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky.

    What's you point?
I agree with him 100%. He responded the same way I would have to a guy who uttered some unwarranted BS. Many of the sort can be heard here. My favorite: the Government subsidizes immigrant owner operators, so they can get their trucks almost free.

Were my points not communicated clearly?

If you have specific questions I would be happy to answer them.

Again, "unwarranted' is a characterization (fact) that is comprised of a thus far unsupported opinion (in my opinion).

Are we beginning to lose the ability to differentiate between fact and opinion, subjective and objective?

Did you not criticize a guy for criticizing another guy who stated some baseless opinion or a "scenario"? To me that scenario was not an unintentional exaggeration but only an attempt to gain a populist applause.

Loose lips sink ships you ought not be naming your carrier's customers and rates like that. Lots of sharks out here chomping at the bit to cut the fat out of your rates.
