The North end is probably where you make your money. You aim for that goal.
If you did not get there in a timely order with good condition, they replace you right?
Your Dalton is so uncommon. I can think of a few routes in the States that might be close to it. But that Dalton is special. It stands alone. When you get back south, it's boring. Until you get another load north.
Tired.

Maybe that sun that is a ball of fire right in your eyes, even at midnight. I need some better sunglasses. I never wore them in my life, until I started running up here.
Or just play dumb if I messed up and show them my logs from here to really fowl them up. lolLast edited: Jun 10, 2019

Jim beam tucked me into bed many times
MACK E-6, FoolsErrand, GhentSaintPeters and 3 others Thank this. -
I see your problem.
You drove 12 hours on the outbound. That's an HOS violation. The stress from bypassing scales on narrow two lane country roads got to you.
Try driving within the HOS. Adjust your goal for the end of the day. Take what the road gives you. If you start stressing over not making your original goal because a shipper delayed you or there was a traffic jam, that doesn't do anybody any good. Readjust and set a new goal you can safely reach.Intothesunset and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I think they are allowed to drive 15 hrs up there so no HOS violation at 12 hrs.MACK E-6, Intothesunset and Lepton1 Thank this.

Sorry, didn't notice the post was from the Great White North, eh?MACK E-6 and Intothesunset Thank this.

No HOS violations, I sometimes shut down 3 hours early, sometimes I come back 100 miles or more before gong to bed.
No going around scales in Alaska, it just doesn't work like that. lol
Shipper delays, not much of that around here either, not at what I haul anyway.
All we have is narrow two lane country roads, at least our good roads are, so no stress there.
The problem is not stress nor that I am tired, I am not tired when I return, at least not tired enough to go to bed and I should go to bed instead of staying up 3 or 4 hours, till time I should be getting up. lolLepton1 Thanks this. -
You can use melatonin to reset your sleep clock. Less is more and you need to be ready to go to sleep when you take it.
Also, blacking out the sleeper can help.
Second the idea of nsaids, i take 3 ibuprofen sometimes. -
Its a subliminal mental thing. I can drive like hell for a week, need all kinds of sleep, but as soon as I get home to ‘new’ environment with my recliner and tv that I haven’t seen all week, I just can’t get tired enough to go to sleep.
Next time, sleep in the truck when you get home. Wake up refreshed and do all the home stuff.starmac Thanks this.
