I am a go-getter. I will stay at home with your new truck in the driveway...

    No miles are great.

I will sleep like a baby and you can mail me my $1500 salary... when it hits the box friday i will go-getter.

What do you consider a lot of money? I actually can offer daily runs but they dont pay as much as OTR. Last winter I stayed jobs south I didn't even see the snow.

    I'm in that position.

Lots of other guys could be in that position as well, but "I don't wanna run nights, I don't wanna do dockwork, I don't wanna pull doubles wah wah wah."

    Sympathy Level 0. :D

Can't say you don't wanna if you never get your endorsement *taps head*

Seriously, though. I don't think I could pull doubles to save my life. Gimme reefer noise, gimme tarps, gimme the unique challenges of steering 4- or spread-axle, anything else at all and I know I could adapt. But doubles and triples just sound like a serious screw up waiting to happen on my part

Best paying Job I ever had, I drove an old GMC Brigadeer with a 238 2 stroke and a 7 spd. Total piece of scrap iron. Top speed 50 mph. Local hourly, It was a blast to drive, though. Never had a problem driving Junk, as long as money is good. Now my old Freightliner still seems Like a new Truck to Me, send Me to downtown Detroit no problem, south side Chicago, been there many times. Just pay Me well. And treat with Respect, I same way I treat you.But above pay Me good. Everything else is BS.

Only 'cause you've never done it. It's dead easy if you have any common sense and attention to detail. I was scared until I did it a couple of times, and now I want to go to Australia and run road trains! ;)

Yup, they just follow you around, If you pull them little short wimpy doubles, you can go where real trucks can't even think about it.

OP, if you want to do this, then heed the warning ... it isn't always about the money.

You will find drivers will cry about stupid crap and many want the money but the real professionals, the good ones are the ones that are hard to find, hard to please and earn their money.

About 80% of all drivers are not real professionals.

The remaining 20% break down to 5% are the real professionals, the 15% come close but never will achieve.

BUT never come to a table with an attitude that you know what the driver wants, just put a package together and treat them with respect, don't ever compromise to keep someone.
