    is it your first time filing. my first time filing i had to go to the irs building. set up a ein number there also. irs claimed i couldnt file my 2290 online for my first time.

    If filing online, be sure to get the proper copy, with water marks. “Authentic” Water marked copy is required to get plate. I don’t know why they call it water marked, Lol. But I made that mistake, the first time I filed on line, and went to IRP. Had the wrong copy.

    Yes this is my first time filing the 2290. Thank you for that info luckily already have the ein and def glad i do now that you mentioned that.

    What exactly does the proper watermark look like? I def dont want to bring the wrong copy when its an hour drive to the nearest dmv for me that does Apportioned-Plates

    I use 2290asap dot com. It costs a fee but they let you do it again for free if somehow it didn’t go through because of a little typo or something.
