as an oilfield hand, I have had days like that, got bad directions one night into a well spud down by elmore city oklahoma and went 3 miles down the wrong dirt path, no chance of backing out so I took down a fence and backed into farmer brown's pasture to get out of there, and yes I put the fence back up when I was done
Just what the heck is a "shag fee"?

the walmart DC in new albany ms charges a $50 shag fee, in the event any of you are going there, they do take comcheck, efs ect (how very considerate of them) but no visa mastercard
-
C+S Wholesale in Woodbridge,NJ. I was stuck there for 15hrs on a Friday.
Of course most of C+S's whse are slower than mollasses. Wally World gets my for one of the best
-
Yeah, it's because using Visa/Mastercard anyone can/could simply call the credit company and have the charges removed(ie freaken take BACK the 'shag' fee). They couldn't have that happen to them now could they?

Agreed 100% and spot on. My rec is to find the turning radius of the tractor and go from there.
I feel ya on that one and that a good thing if you make friends a construction site or haul that type of equipment. Using it to its advantage.
Spot on as I used to work in the grocery industry.
Well do they take American Express? All kidding aside, very good information to know.
Well if you pester them beyond a normal customer and had good relations, yes. If not no. -
Some one who finally made me aware of why there are lumper fee's. they are a total racket. My husband is doing refer right now and the fees for unloading are crazy. I used to work at a factory (made pancake syurp, honey, peanut better) I drove fork truck and loaded and unloaded many trucks. dont understand lumper fees. and we wonder why food is so expensive.

The whole grocery industry is this way because the normal public has no idea. Its just like the clothing industry. Both of these industries are a big racket that was started decades ago and now would be almost impossible to correct. My biggest concern (or complaint) is that the majority of the lumpers are illegals or welfare cases and make the money under the table. If the lumper companies hired regular workers I would be a little happier about paying the fees. But I would still be upset that it takes them extremely long to unload a truck.
I run a lot of Wal Mart loads that are all drops. I've never once been asked to pay a shag fee. But then again I'm going into their "dry" distribution centers and I pull the loads for Schneider. -
Your kidding right? If your a card holder or a business card holder with a credit company they WANT to keep you as a customer... period!
What makes it interesting is that many of these credit companies are huge mulit-national corporations that even the almighty Wal-Mart may use for financing certain endeavors. This is precisely why the Dist. Centers will NOT allow you to pay the 'shag' fee with this form of credit. These credit companies, working for you, would have NO qualm in flipping even Wal-Mart the bird in payment of a suspected fraudulent charge.
Wal-mart(or whomever is charging the shag fee) doesn't want to deal with this so they will NOT accept this form of payment.
