My cab air shuts down, fan, as well as compressor. Of course this shuts off defroster, not good this time of year. This is just an intermitent problem, so it refuses to quit while at a shop. Have just noticed it throws a code when it's shut down and this code goes away when it fires back up. Code is, bad 146s010 12. This is a 2003 Century, with 12.7 Detroit.

    Thanks 4 any help,
    Dave

If its throwing a code wouldn't that mean its a sensor on the motor causing this. Also can't they just plug it in and be told by the computer what code has flashed?

I would think it's a sensor. As stated the $h!++!ng thing doesn't do it while in a shop. Also me or mechanics didn't know it was throwing a code. Last evening it quit for a few minutes. I hit the dash diagnostic display and there was the code. Hadn't thought of doing this before. Then when fan kicked back on, code dissapeared. Wish I had my 379 back.

    Dave,

Make note of the milage when this happens. Write it down, every time. And make the idiot of mechanic looking at the dianostic, pull it up.

It can be done. Even if it won't throw a code while in the shop. Just get that milage!

I get so tired of the BS some mechanics pull. Out of laziness, or lack of experience. :biggrin_2552:

OK, thanks, I blame some on mekanics, some on inginears designing over-complicated systems. I should have time today to call San Antonio 'shaker dealer, they worked on it before. Maybe they can tell me what this code means.

Dave I was wondering if you ever found out anything on this issue that you are having, I am experiencing the same issue myself with my truck?
