so in December or so all the aobrd guys are going to have to switch to full eld unless sometime comes up with a system to get passed all the crap
So my question is. What happens to the 2000 pre emissions/eld/glider trucks?
I wonder if there will be a system or still exempt?
Anyone?

Still will be exempt
Coffey, mp4694330, Intothesunset and 1 other person Thank this. -
No different than say ABS. (very) older trucks can still go without them.
99.99% of the trucks will die of natural causes. -
Coffey Thanks this.

Thanks for the input though.
Like I stated I bought a w9 00 est 99 with a fully built motor so it should last me years before it dies naturally.Timin770 and Intothesunset Thank this. -
When its 3pm- and everyone's flying outta Indy on I-70 going east or west- I'll go to Brazil or something for awhile -
Granted I can do anything with my aobrd cuz I run the show here with a few trucks I’m looking to retire one of my trucks and get a truck I’ve always wanted a 3406 kitty an opportunity came up so I hopped on it. And I have to say. I miss scribbling lines on paper.
I pick the truck up in a week or 2 when I have time to fly out. Business is crazy at home so need to make time.
But I’m ready!Coffey, Intothesunset and stayinback Thank this. -
yea any truck 99 and older that an ELD cant monitor data directly from engine with not be mandatory, still just paper logs. That's the major difference between ELD and AOBRD, ELD's are real time and record down to the second by graphing from ECM instead of 15 min blocks that can be altered by driver

This is the whole reason I have a 1992 truck sitting at home untill I repair some things.
No eld, no ABS, no emissions required.Timin770, Coffey, RollsOverEveryHillLast and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ill tell you why-
1989 thru 1993 model year trucks are so hard to find these days- simply because those 4 years gave you the most perfect truck, with most perfect mechanical engines..etc.
Go try to Find one- You can Find a tom of 1994's and later-or 1988's and earlier.......
Keep that truck
