When you see a truck that has no markings on it, and has a Government tag. there you go. The Military has it's own trucks out there. Most all branch's. A good friend of mine is in the Navy and I wont go into where or what, But when they have stuff to move they do it. They have every kind of trailer they might need. Nice 770 Volvo's.
Some of the story's about the look on the unfortunate DOT man face that pull them over are Hilarius. What's a log book? Med. Card? whats that? And just when he thinks O boy I going to make Captain on this stop, He Say's, Oh yea here call this number. Sometimes I'm jealous.

Most likely that DOT will never make it to the driver, most know the markings that are there, and if not. Someone else will let him know before the stop can be made. The driver is not to stop.

Yes there are DOT that are dumb enough to pull them over. And yes they will stop, can't have them going down the road attracting attention with Police chasing them. Now I am not talking about guy's with Nuclear Weapons here. That is a different ball game all together.

The scales in Hope Ar. got schooled back in 91 when we failed to enter.
With in 20 miles a Chopper from Red River in New Boston Tx was on us.
In short order the lights went out and the cop hit the ditch and went the other way :biggrin_25523:
Pretty cool to see a chopper flying back wards over the interstate.
The advancement of technology/communication/education now prevent
DOT Agencies from making foolish mistakes.

It was alot of drama for a load of 6.5mm :biggrin_2559:

Yea, some of that sh$# looks familiar. Had some on the Ranger & Bonnie Dick when I flew off them. The theory was we were supposed to be at an upward angle when released & "throw" them where they were supposed to go kinda like throwing a baseball from right field to home plate. Then we could supposedly haul ###. It was really a suicide mission because we would have been flying so low there was no time to get out of there before the proximity fuse lit them up. At 35,000 feet it only takes 43 seconds to get to 2,000 feet & those things were designed to be "dropped" from a lot lower.

I too delt with quite a few trucks (we called them SST's # Bangor NSB subbasse..) and the infamous "white trains" that Green peace loved to stage protests around..

These trucks were DOE only.. Those munitions carriers like TSMT, Boyle, ect. arn't even close to what's in those SST's... (Totaly different ballgame)..

Exactly. I was at Bangor also but I was there right when Trident was coming on line and the base was called SWFPAC. I worked in the REB shop but I loaded and unloaded many SST's and with short birds I unloaded them from Tri-State. It was funny that we would get the hand outs from the Pacific life people (green peace) at the gate and read them in the shop. They also put the big switch on those idiots when Trident heads came in. They ran a train from Pantex that was emtpy because the SST's brought all them in weeks before.

Since we're talking sensitive loads...I had a load that was a torpedo from Bangor that they turned me down because I didn't have an all wood deck on my flat.....
Uh, aren't the torpedos built withstand the harsh conditions of the ocean?????
