I see signs every day that turns are authorized.

That's because at their core there is nothing wrong with doing one. The rub is the where and when you do it.

Bud A., RunningAces and Bean Jr. Thank this.

I mentioned they had to report and document, did you miss that? It’s much easier to make a good faith effort and document and report failures than it is to gloss over, never request the info and report and document all as failures. Additionally it would raise eyebrows wouldn’t it?

You stated they are required to get, that’s not true. They are required to make a good faith effort and report and document failures. That’s not the same thing.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

OK, lets ground this discussion back to the original point about DAC. Like I said DAC is only a tool that helps a carrier comply with 391. The information still has to be obtained. Don't really matter how.

Jesus. Another one of these situations eh? No worry as I may have an answer and you may have seen it already. Stevens Transport tagged me for 4 accidents in my first year (Non-DOT Reportable) and this still made it impossible to get a job for a while. Most jobs in my area wanted 1-2 years worth of driving and no mega carriers would touch me. However there is hope. You have a year and there are some who won't give a hang about a DAC Report. However, being termed for breaking company policy will probably nail you. A dump job may just be your best bet as most of them are cash jobs and tax free for you. The only problems I had as dump driver were slow work weeks and rainy days. My only question is if the U-turn policy was in place, why would you do it? Stevens had a strict No U-Turn policy. They fired a senior driver because he did a U-Turn right in front of the front gate of the yard and Mr. Aaron happened to see it from his office. Just my two cents.

OK, you are hung up on my use of the word get, let's change that to seek. Still does not change the basic facts of complying with 391.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.
