Because they are garbage. I drove on 4 newer Volvo’s 2016 up and they are constantly had problems.
sdaniel Thanks this. -
I don't give a #### how you sit. I don't care if you hang upside down in your cab. But to assume that all these efforts to find the best seats and the best sitting position are of no use, only tells us that you don't have a ####ing idea what your are talking about. Ergonomics is an extremely important science, every truck manufacturer spends fortunes on ergonomics with the design of trucks.
No, that is why we have the Code 95 training. Without a Code 95 certification, you can't work as a professional truck or bus driver. Every 5 years you have to fresh up your knowledge for a new certificate. One aspect in the training is health, that means not only proper sitting position, but also how to lift heavy objects, how to handle dangerous loads, what to eat on the road and what not to eat, everything to keep the trucker healthy. That's good for the driver, and his company. It lowers the costs.
Sure, if you're not aware that certain problems with wrong sitting positions will not manifest themselves immediately, but only after years, then you're right.
This is called "progressive insight", more and more knowledge about materials, the effect of vibrations, how the human spine reacts, and so on.
Yes, sure. They can buy the cheapest seat they want, use the worst sitting position they want, and be happy invalids after 30 years or so.
That's not the point. The point is your silly point of view that there is nothing to know about seats and sitting positions, because you have sat on a seat for several decades. -
In the name of the European Union I'm issuing you a code 95 violation citizens arrest warrant for violating code 95.

Sure glad i don't live in a socialist society that makes me get certification in what to eat for dinner.
Also glad i have the freedom to spend as much, or as little as i want on a truck seat.nevesu, MartinFromBC, Humblepie and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've know these things for decades, the only reason that I googled was to find documents to show you, because you as a professional driver, didn't know it or believe it. And that SAE document wasn't a standard, it was a study. And of course you don't care about standards, you know everything there is about trucks. How could the people designing them know more??
-
Truck manufacturers regularly consult with me. SAE is an American source and cannot be viewed as trustworthy or reliable. Most likely it is 30 or 40 years behind the times.MartinFromBC, Oxbow and spyder7723 Thank this.

They are not forcing you to eat certain things, they are teaching you what to eat and what not. If you want to eat greasy hamburgers every day and drop dead of a heart infarct, please go ahead. Please try to inform yourself what socialism is, it's not what Fox News tells you, because those morons don't have a clue either.
I know you live in the land of freedom. It gives every citizen the right to do the most stupid things possible, congratulations. However, in the Human Freedom Index, the US isn't listed very high:
The jurisdictions that took the top 10 places, in order, were New Zealand, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Denmark (tied in 6th place), Ireland and the United Kingdom (tied in 8th place), and Finland, Norway, and Taiwan (tied in 10th place). Selected countries rank as follows: Germany (13), the United States and Sweden (17), Republic of Korea (27), Japan (31), France and Chile (32), Italy (34), South Africa (63), Mexico (75), Kenya (82), Indonesia (85), Argentina and Turkey (tied in 107th place), India and Malaysia (tied in 110th place), United Arab Emirates (117), Russia (119), Nigeria (132), China (135), Pakistan (140), Zimbabwe (143), Saudi Arabia (146), Iran (153), Egypt (156), Iraq (159), Venezuela (161), and Syria (162). -
