Canadian truck for the old wheelbase rule. Not cabinet friendly at allRideandrepair and spyder7723 Thank this.

Would also need a tiny sleeper and short hood to stay that short. Or do they measure wheel base different up north? Here it is from center of steer axle to center of tandems.Rideandrepair Thanks this.
-
Canada we have to be under 75ft total length with a 53' . Some provinces also have a 244 wheelbase restriction, tho I'm told those laws are or have changed or you can get a permit, but, still have to be under 75'
Those are great numbers with a hood. With the hills and such we have getting in and out of the east coast you'd never get that out here.rank and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
You have hills bigger than the Colorado mountains? In addition to the Rockies I've also been across the Appalachians 3 times this month. West Virginia ain't flat.
While a big hood is obviously less aerodynamic and will use more fuel, the biggest factor has always been and always will be, the monkey driving the truck. Dad taught this monkey well.stillwurkin, rank and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
I’ve seen many 244 for sale, full bunk and long hood. A little tight, but it works. My old 92 WS was 250, it was about standard wb at the time for WS. Just as many I’d say as 265 at the time. The Canadians just squeezed it down to 244, many had a Canadian spread. I forget the exact measurements, but Drives had an extra 12-18” between them. I hear they ride better than standard Set up.

That’s funny, the only reason I ever wanted one is for the looks of it. I don’t like 8 bag AR, Bushing problems, AG 100-300 nope. I’ve seen aluminum rear spring hangers crack, front springs are too short, dash is too flat, nice leg room, I would tolerate those things, just because of the styling. Looks much better than a 379 IMO. 92-93 areodyne 007 edition my favorite of all.

Didn’t 244 used to apply to western providences only? I’ve always heard We couldn’t go into Canada, but many always did. I’ve heard all different versions, Windsor exempt. A lot of wrong information was always floating around. I once had a Canadian Driver ask if it were true, he had to draw a line every 15 minutes, On driving line to stay current. Lol. His Co workers had him scared to death of US DOT.rank Thanks this.

I can’t speak for all provinces but in ON it used to be illegal to exceed 244” with a 53 but no longer. It still is a law in QC.....I was fined a few years ago now I buy a annual for QC.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Lol man, i take it you aren't a pete man. Thats ok. But here is the deal. Mine is the second pete 379 i have ever owned. The truck i ran the most years was a co 9670. 17 years i drove it. 1.6 mil miles. Don't trade trks often. Some trade often..i don't care. I am 63 yrs and bending to reach for whatever on the dash, or pulling forward 1 extra time to get into a dock or spot doesn't bother me at all. I run pittsburgh some and there are some antiquated places there. Buffalo Ny also. As far as expense for pete parts and cat parts, not much difference. Had my engine rebuilt in 2014 for little over 16,000. With cat parts. Diesel Injection Barkeyville, Pa. Runs great. Paint is kinda faded on the old girl, but with some lipstick on she looks pretty good. 1.8 mill miles on her chassis. I will park it side by side with any other brand with similar miles and orginal paint, and won't be embarrassed too much, if any. Paid 24,000 for it almost 7 years ago. Worth that now. Thats what I'm talk'in about. Oh, it has 6nz for what thats worth, pitts power box, smooth flow exhaust manifold, and high output turbo. Runs sooo sweet, i even smile. Dont horse it, but when i want to it does real nice. Has a 10 speed, but will get a 13 when the time comes to replace.lynchy, Rideandrepair, Dino soar and 2 others Thank this.
