I'm half blind but it looks like a torq head bolt that someone stripped out. If not then its a rivet. Either way grind the head off and use a punch to pop the rest out. No big deal.

Thats a stupid design. But easily removed and replaced with a self tapping screw.

    Grubby Thanks this.

Or a nut and bolt, take a heck of a self tapper to fill that hole.

The head is big but the hole is probably only 1/4 or 3/8ths.
I cant tell from the picture but it certainly looks like it would be a ##### to get a nut on the top. If i had to go the bolt and nut route I'd drill in from the side of the track and just do away with that block.

Looks like it has a weld bead around it.
Can you get any tools inside?
Suspect the the part in the rail is a torque bolt with the head sheared off. May be able to drill and use an easy-out to remove it.

It’s a rivet there’s nothing welded. It’s an aluminum trailer with a steel rivet. It’s rusty and you can see where it’s distorted from being crushed. 4D889642-40F2-4929-ADB1-276AE9EB06FE.jpeg A186E2B0-3E84-4FC6-90F8-0ACC03F97B6A.jpeg

Yes Johndeere420 was correct. It’s a rivet. What a stupid design. Do they just expect who ever to fine with what they gave from factor

To make matters worst, the blocks stoping from going over the trailer wheels are also riveted..

In the front I can easily get a nut and bolt to replace rivet. But the rear has no opening for me to do so. So I haven’t touch it as yet until I can find a bolt that van probbaly just screws into the rivet whole

I'd just remove the ones back by the trailer wheels. Those are there to prevent company drivers that dont care from putting a winch directly over the tire.

    Lepton1 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
