And i can give you examples of non union company drivers that are as well compensated as any union driver with non of the union bs. Not every non union company driver works for some mega pos carrier like crst.

Good honest companies exists. I gave you one right off the top of my head.

my opinion is our unions are comprised of many of the same folk who our politicians are comprised of- these are the folk who basically like talking- talking for a living - so the best talkers are unfortunately the ones who tend to get picked to do the job.
there is no question in my mind, that we, the hardworking, bluecollar folk deserve our share for our contribution to the economy. we look at managers, bankers, traders and the like who get to buy bigger cars, bigger houses, nice long vacations, with very little risk of injury/death where we are being killed daily nationwide. there is no real question that our elections are bought- whoever spends the most money in a democracy generally wins- and they get to make the laws and set the rules. there really is one law in life- it is the law of the jungle- the biggest animal usually wins. this means the little guy, you and me, dont count for squat. the only real way to be heard and be counted is to organize- meaning we have to be smarter about who we listen to.

There is a driver shortage, has been for some time. Many multi talented people have left trucking in favor of other jobs they can get. I predict wages will have to rise until the driversless trucks take over the majority of loads. Many years away yet.

There is no driver shortage. There may not be enough drivers to fill all of the available trucks, but with just the drivers we now have the industry is way over capacity. The driver shortage myth is, and has been propagated by the ATA for over twenty years now in order to keep pay down and continue their merry-go-round of new drivers.

Yeah glad there are other people who see this too. Fascism levels are insane. Heard about Amazon and how they treat their employees... and the company I work for currently is no different. Jumping ship, doing my research, biding my time.

Yes and no. They're playing a numbers game. The companies worth working for wait until you hit a few years to see if you're worth the headache but the big companies hire the unwashed masses knowing that they need the experience... but a few will take the easy route and do whatever they tell them to do.
