I like the sound you get from most exports. Its a strong sound that lets folks know you mean business. Im not looking to talk long distances. I just want to sound a bit stronger than a stock radio. I also dont like government telling me I can only have a measly 4 watts but Ill save that for the politics board

    HotRodConner12 and BTShepp Thank this.

A decent radio peaked and tuned by a "Professional Technician" ( not a monkey with a screw driver aka "Golden Screwdriver") will make a decent radio sound great. Any idiot can get in the radio and start cranking away but, Those radios are the ones people can not understand due to the distortion and way over modulated. Personally I would rather have a radio that puts out 10-15 watts and crystal clear than one that pumps out 50 plus and can't be understood. Just my $.02

I've had both the older Galaxy 33HML and the newer Galaxy 33HP. I loved them both. I'm kicking myself for selling the HP. It took a beating and held up perfectly for around 8 years with no problems.

Ive had one since they first came out and used it primarily in my Ford F 150 with a Wilson 1000 mag mount antenna. The transmit power is typical for a dual final radio ( mosfets) 12 watt carrier and 48 watt pep, and the audio is loud and clear at 100% modulation, never really used it much on ssb primarily AM and the receive is excellent, overall I would highly recommend buying one.

Galaxy are good radios, this radio tends to run a little hot, If your not a HAM its kind of a waste of money IMHO, being a 10 meter radio. There's less expensive options for cb use.
