Another difference between our two setups: he removed the twin turbo setup and went to a single turbo whereas I just got this truck. I haven't had the time to do the same swap as him. I wanted to see what this truck is capable of before I swap over to the same setup he has.

Many on here swear by the twins.

I'm not afraid of running them. I could care less whether I run twins or single, I just want to learn what I can and cannot do using Cat ET. I want to know how to run it.

I misread the title as cat personality control module and was severely disappointed by the content.

I'm not really a cat person but If I could modify the personality to be a guard cat and also be well behaved and only go to the bathroom outside the truck... I might consider getting one.

Big diffrence between your buddys engine and your engine. He is running a custom tune and your running a stock cat file.

Just get yours done by a reputable tuner and it will pull just as good. The biggest problem with the stock cat program is the injection timing. This is why your buddys engine runs cooler and has more power.

Different ecm's bxs has a 70 pin ecm. Mxs uses a 120 pin ecm. You would just have to find a similar program that has compatability.

We both had acerts. His is now a single turbo. My BXS is also a 120 pin ecm. Am I not able to edit anything in ET to change my performance? Am I just kind of stuck sending it off to a tuner? I know the number of the file the guy used to build the tune. Not sure what the stock numbers are in said file but I did take pics of some of the specs of the file on my buddy's truck.

Keep the twins. You won't regret it. I use to be a twin turbo hater. I've seen the light. Bxs in my opinion is the better of the acerts. Just get a good tune. You can also take the vva's off a bxs and plug the oil supply line. But if you do that be ready to Fix headgasket. Or build with low comp pistons.

    Oxbow and spsauerland Thank this.
