I may be wrong, but I think pedophilia was more prevalent and tolerated in the past than today. We have so many laws now that any country today would pass as a radical lib compared to the countries over 2,000 years ago. No, I’m not a l..

The psychologists I read and listen to in podcasts make the claim based on their work will hundreds and thousands of soldiers, not just the few that snap and get into the media reports. Their drug use, suicide, domestic violence, unemployment, etc are better than the general public. You wouldn't know it because the media and their audience only know soldiers from Hollywwod movies, idiotic TV shows, and some headlines.

Are truck drivers in real life like what is shown in TV and movies?

The laws will keep pedophiles in check. Sound like a plan.

Would you or would you not shoot the unidentified person carrying your daughter out the (front) door? Why is it so hard to admit that it’s reasonable to get a bit more information before shooting/attacking someone? The scenario needs rework.

And for the love of God, anyone reading this, yes, I do agree with the officer shooting the attacker in the video of this thread!

Several things to consider on this thread.
Officers have several levels in the use of force. Just an officers presence is a level of force. Hands on, ASP baton, taser, mace and deadly force are other levels. What use of force is used is not determined by the officer but the suspect. The officer reacts to what is occurring. In the case of this video the suspect could have just accepted the citation and been on his way. The suspect decided to use deadly force and the officer responded with the appropriate force.
We were taught to double tap, two shots, then evaluate. So if two shots did not work use additional rounds until all hostile action ceases.
We were trained to shoot for center mass, the chest area. The odds of hitting that are much greater than other area of the body while everyone is moving around.
To many people think one round will stop someone. Television and movies are for ratings not accuracy.
Their is a 21 foot rule that was stressed to us. If a suspect is 21 feet away they can run up to and stab the officer before the officer recognizes the threat, draws their weapon and reacts to the threat. This was a close in fight with the suspect starting from the high ground which is an advantage to him. The officer started with a disadvantage of close range and low ground. Again the suspect started it the officer handled it.
The death of the suspect lies with personal responsibility. The suspect made the decision to attack the officer with a deadly weapon. The suspect made a decision that cost him his life.
I use to be in charge of a Citizens Police Academy for my department. We had one evening where the class would go through a shoot don't shoot simulator, conduct traffic stops dealing with hostile drivers and have to use a baton against an officer in a red man protective suit. That evening was always an eye opener.
Many like to blame the officers but what about the suspects. The courts add to this with a catch and release mentality. Suspect are released for violent crimes. No accountability no reason not to continue committing violent crimes. I had a person shoot at me never serve jail time. Facts no longer matter to the media, ratings do. See it on Facebook it must be true.
What makes me nervous is less and less people are joining the military and becoming officers. What is going to happen when we need help and no one responds.

    You're trying to Bleed.
If you can identify that its your 3 yr old daughter being carried away, you will be able to identify everything else you need to know.

It sounds good, I guess, until you yourself are arrested. You’ve been here since 2008, and all the outlaw stuff you have posted so far contradicts what you’re saying. I’m guessing that breaking the laws that you don’t agree with does not count. :biggrin_25520:
