If you have used 50 hours at the end of 8 days, at midnight (or the morning when you wake up on day 9) you would have the remaining 20 plus whatever you worked on first day.
Lets say on day 1 you worked (lines 3+4) 8.5 hrs. On day nine you would have 28.5 hours available to work. The 20 remaining hours plus the 8.5 that fell off at midnight.
Anytime you can take a 34 hour restart, it is worth your while to do it. If you work 8.75 hrs every day, you will never run out of hours to drive.
8.75X8= 70, using this, at midnight on day 8 (after day 8, not the midnight starting day 8) the 8.75 from day one falls into use.

Yes you can go to the sleeper, however anything less than 8 hours will still count towards your 14 hour clokc. This means if you drive 5 hours then stop for 7.75 hours you still have to shut down for 10 hour or do a split (because you have 2 hours or more you can do 8 hours in the SLEEPER instead of a 10 hr break, however make sure you understand them regulations because it's a very detailed process but very easy).
So once you start your day # 8:00 am you have until 10:00 pm to drive 11 hours of line 3 only. I don't care what you do from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm as long as you don't DRIVE over 11 hour or past 10:00 pm. That simple! -
Thank yu logrus and otherhalftw....yu guys are very helpful!!!!!

Oh NO! Poor poor advice and poor poor logging but I guess it's your choice. Just hope you don't get into an accident

Did you know some companys only audit certain drivers. If you don't fall into that category they may not ever "false" check you (most do all fuel) and boom one day you fall in that category and they find all that you have been doing wrong for the last year etc. So be carefull in thinking you are getting by with it. You are for now but #### I hope (being honest here) you don't get wrapped up in an accident and someone gets killed because they will probably find what you was really doing.
Do you have the qualcom? If so that's the fastest way to catch you cheating on the book.
Good luck, I gotta let all the newbies know that is bad advice though if that's what you chose to do it's your perogative then

Sad to say, but you may be one of the few in the logging departments that push for the legal. Most only want the books to look legal.
-
I just wanted to clarify that's all
Look at the link if you want or you can see the document (hopefully it works) I down loaded I copied and pasted it from the Federal motor carrier website.

Good stuff!!!! Thanks alot!!!!!

I know but the driver himself/herself needs to understand who cares if the auditor just wants it to be legal. Does the drivers know that auditor will not be standing in court saying Yeah we just wanted it to look legal, we didn't care. So yeah she goes to jail and you sit free, NOT!
It will be you on trial and the attorneys asking U the driver why was you running illegal and logging illegal and quoting you the driver the federal regulations. So I stress to the drivers who cares what the company wants you as a driver has the responsibility to make sure you are running legal at all times.
That's me looking out for you the driver not what the auditor wants.
-
No doubt, but the dispatchers and all push for this. When I refused to run illegal, my miles disappeared. When the miles left, so did my income. How do you pay the bills then?
-
That's when you should go hirer up, however not all companys will do anything "so I hear" but you will need to make a rash decission prison or job? I know it's got to be the hardest decission but I bet you find a job farely quick in the trucking industry. I know one place but can't say except in private message. We expect you to run legal and anyone tries to get you to do different will not work there! Plain and simple!
