Hi to all i've been reading some posts on people getting log book tickets but i have never seen this $$$$ for a ticket. This happened a month ago in PA i was put out of service because i left my march log book at home and didn't have proof of the past 7 days. They did an inspection on my truck and found a brake chamber loose( don't know when it happened since i had adjusted them 3 days earlier) another $650 dollar and then another $650 ticket i can't remember what it was for. I'm looking for advice as to if i should hire a lawyer or go at it myself specially because i never thought a couple of tickets would be so expensive :biggrin_25516:

I don't know if you are an o/o or a company driver. A lawyer is probably going to want $1000.00 or better. Handling it on your own the best that you can hope for is a reduction in fines. Lawyers to their benefit know how to shop for judges and can get your case heard by the one who is most trucker friendly.

Wow. My husband got an overweight ticket in IL in Feb. Luckily he was unloaded so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Ticket was $2800. He belongs to one of those prepaid legal plans, so he paid $100 for the attorney to go to court for him and he got his ticket knocked down to $1375.

I think if I ever got a 2800 dollar fine in the states, I would just stay up in Canada and call it even. haha. WOW that's a big hit.

When you are empty, I have never heard of the computer calling someone in.

There must have been something else. I have went by that scale with the axles in almost every way. Used to run up there daily.

On XM radio awhile back said they was beefing up tickets. Cops sitting there waiting for trucks to cross. Restricted to no trucks.
