Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I just need a delivery date and a physical address. I'll call when empty if you don't already know about it.
Is that so hard for any company to do this? -

I would rather just be out of the industry and work at a gas station.jeff18, D.Tibbitt and horsecrazychic22 Thank this.

I’d rather drive a dump truck for a construction company and never go more than 10 minutes from the yard, which would drive me nuts, but it still beats one on the training companies.D.Tibbitt and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Dump truck work can be pretty #### lucrative, so who cares about length of haul? Hourly work makes it all worth it.
-
Not if you’re only working for about half of what LTL guys make.Matt1924 and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

I love working hard and making great money. Driving and unloading trailers is what i like to do.

In my area, the union dump guys make just as much money as a lot of the OTR guys. And they take winters off.MACK E-6 Thanks this.

Hard to believe this thread is 12 years old. As I revealed some time back, MACK posted this thread when I came to him requesting a change in username (my old one was my first initial and last name) after the company I drove for brought me in for a meeting with my fleet manager and my training coordinator with a printout of something I had posted here. I didn't see it as negative, more a backhanded compliment of the guy who ran orientation at the time. The guy really did sound like a motivational speaker, and he was good at it. The company was still somewhat leery of my post. So anyway, I did nearly 10 years on the road and now I'm a fleet supervisor on a dedicated account for a supermarket chain in the panhandle of Florida. Ain't it strange how things work out over time?
horsecrazychic22 and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
I would imagine that a lot of companies would read this forum

If a company was so anal that they are going to call you in to the office to ##### about something you wrote here, they must be a pretty insecure company to start with. Secondly, rather than address what the individual sees as negatives and try to find a way to make a positive out of it they basically say ####, well seriously? Go ahead, just TRY to shut me up

The beatings will continue until morale improves!Milkman719, D.Tibbitt, Trucking in Tennessee and 3 others Thank this.
