So as we all know Illinois, Ohio, and a few other states raised their fuel tax rates. I'm noticing the IFTA rates remained the same. Why don't we get more of a credit towards IFTA miles traveled in state if the tax went up?

The rates get adjusted every quarter, when is the effective date of the tax increase? They will be adjusted to reflect the changes.

It was the gas tax in Illinois, not diesel. For the first time in a long long time, diesel is less expensive than gasoline.

That's not true. Diesel tax went up as well. Look at Illinois' prices. They're way up.

July 1.. IFTA was not adjusted, but diesel prices are up considerably.

So which is it?

From Landline Mag:
Illinois
Fuel tax rates in Illinois are on the verge of doubling.
The state now collects 19 cents on each gallon of gas sold and 21.5 cents on diesel. The tax rates are unchanged since 1990.
As part of a $45 billion capital plan approved by the General Assembly the state’s fuel tax rates will increase July 1 to 38 cents and 45.5 cents, respectively.Oxbow Thanks this. -
What are you talking about? Both of my statements are the same. Illinois' diesel prices are up a lot, but the credit you get for IFTA at the pump remained unchanged according to Pro Miles.
-
According to Pro Miles Illinois gave you 37.5 cents per gallon credit towards IFTA when you purchased fuel in IL before July 1. That number is still 37.5 cents per gallon even though the tax went way up.

One of your posts says the tax on diesel is up, the other says it's the same, but the price of diesel is up. Which is it? Is the tax the same or is it up?
