I consider it a shop queen because I feel 8 sets of injectors while only having 735k miles is a bit excessive. Borderline ludicrous.

    KB3MMX and d281833 Thank this.

Just curious how they do that dye test, and what shop or a dealer did it for you, want to check with a local dealer around here.

Well it's just that. They run a dyed fuel through it as the fuel source and they can see if the o-rings or cups are leaking. I had them run it after the last install cuz I kept getting fuel dilution and they found that a couple of o-rings hadn't seated properly so they repaired and ran again to make sure there were no leaks. This after numerous installs and the head checked, something was wrong somewhere. Like I said, bad parts and bad install, you just have to scream louder.

Oh Lord, going to the 5 mpg 379/389 land and sardine can cabin. Burning the price of a brand new truck out the pipes every 4-5 years.

Anyways, look up Mike Davis specifically at Truck Enterprises Hagerstown MD. He is the Volvo guru that WILL get your truck working correctly .. if you want a shot at stopping the maintenance blood loss.

Maybe dump that truck ASAP and go for that old pete if there's what you really want.. you've only got one life to live, don't waste it.

He said 379 .. was referring to an old truck not a new glider... But yeah the new 389 gliders are very scarce now

I have a carter AFB on a 350 chevy in my boat. I know exactly what you mean. My truck does the same exact thing.
