a guy approached me the other day about getting in the trucking biz. First, I asked him if he was nutz!
He told me he knew an OO that wanted to sell our and was thinking of buying it. He then asked me if
he would be able to transfer the guy's authority into his name, etc. I told him I was not certain how that could be done if at all.
i said that i think it is possible as you can do name changes under the same authority but you have the W9
to deal with as well. I told him it would be cheaper and easier to do a transfer if it's allowed and could be
in biz sooner.
So, my question is, are any of you out there familiar with doing this, done it before or know it can't be done?
thanks in advance.

When you transfer someones' authority from their name to yours you also transfer all their problems as well. Better off getting your own.

Appreciate the info. I was all over the FMCSA site and everything I found need a legal degree to dechiper it. The FAQs pretty much took care of everything and in "English" as well.
