Wow, EVO I down, and half way through EVO II. I'm doing some hometime now, not really sure how long I'm going to be home, I got back late saturday night, and was told to call roehl sometime today and find out what they are planning on doing with me.

After my last post, we never sat for more than 30 minutes before getting a load. I've made two trips into canada, both times I've been searched going across the border. One of the questions asked earlier in the thread was if you NEED a passport. The quick answer is no, the long answer is that the government will require soon, and when you go through orientation Roehl will have you fill out the application and take your picture, then send you as a group to the post office to send in the paperwork. So I'd say bring two copies of your birth certificate, one to send in for your passport, the other to help you get over the border.

I have no idea how many miles I've logged so far, I could just go add them up, but I'm too lazy ;) I'd guess it's in the neighborhood of 2,000 miles over two weeks.

My shifting has improved greatly, to the point where there is very little commentary from my trainer on my shifting technique. Most of the time we are just working on a few little things that I do, like turning my signal off before I'm actually in the lane. I know that's just a bad habit from growing up in Chicago, I was surprised when I was told that one blink of the flasher isn't enough for a lane change ;)

    Enough for now,
    Joe

Fleet managers are just mouth pieces between you and those that don't want to talk to you. Some FMs are better than others. Luckily, mine is awesome.

Most reefers I've pulled have gone from WI to TX, then something back up. I just took one to PA and now I'm off to Jersey. Should be interesting to see what else we start pulling now that Roehl has ORT's customer base.

I'm out now on my second day with my 3rd trainer. All is going well, it's nice to work on my backing more often than when I was with my flat bed trainers. They were both great guys, just don't do much backing with that flat bed. We are out in Ohio now, waiting to unload. My trainer says we have at least another hour of waiting (one hour down all ready) then he's hoping we'll get a load out of here, but unsure how long we'll wait before we get a load due to the long weekend.

Hey Dr. Venture, any chance your load out to Jersey was a load that you picked up via reley? My trainer and I just swapped trailers with someone who was going out to Jersey.
