I think you are right. I was reading some law online that mentioned the overgross was for state and US highways, but not interstate highways.

There's some grandfathered routes but the state is no longer honoring them

    3 axle tandem.
    10 foot spread
    Permit or not.

It's only a.blanket statement to you. The rest of us aren't having any problems. And as mentioned. Do it ALLLLL the time. For the past 5 years.

Stop and ask them to measure you and then ask them what happens if you’re over gross based on what you can bridge.

And like I said, a few hundred over on a group won’t get you in trouble. If you’re pushing 44k you’re not even 500 over if you have a 10 foot spread. I’m talking about being over gross. So get measured and ask what happens if you’re over gross. The first thing Ut does is pull your permit and you get a ticket from 80k.

And saying they give you 1% is a blanket statement with no basis other than you’ve gotten away with it. Just like the statement you’ve made before about OR not allowing more than 12k on the steer. That also isn’t true as we had trucks that had to be 13k on the steer in Or to bridge out at 102k.

I’m not sure anyone claimed OR has a 12k limit on the steers. The road atlas says it’s based on 600 lb./inch of tire width with a limit of 20k. Using my steer tires of 275 width, it converts to 12,992.

I'm having this same issue right now had shipper reload (DH LOGISTICS in Louisville ) and after 7 reweights my steers are still over. 860. I just looked at my sticker it says my steers are rated 13200. My 5th wheel is pushed all the way back and my tandems all the way forward.

So you’re 12860? Or you’re 14060? If you’re 12860 and you have 16 ply steer tires you’re good to go, provided you’re fine on gross weight.

12860 and yes 16 ply and total is 79 gross. I even took some time and looked over the Bridgestone table index as well as checked the laws on the state's I'm running in. (Today is Kentucky , Virginia and NC.)I'm thinking just to be sure in going to raise my steers to 110 psi they are registering at 102. According to the index they should be at 110. The way I read it steers should now be filled to their preferred max value in order to accommodate it's rated max value ( for me that would be 6610 x 2 @ 13220) my truck (2020 Frieghtliner)is rated for 13200.
My only concern is DOT aware of this I would hate to be pulled in and have to kindly try to explain this to someone who thinks bi matter what they make the rules
