The only problem is later when it is not half full. Don't know how many times I have started to park and found a 4 wheeler hogging up a truck spot. Too be honest with you at times I have wanted to shove the car out of the way. We have very limited parking out here and can be fined heavily for parking in places we shouldn't be parked in, but we can also be fined for driving past our legal driving limit when we can't find parking. I would say the most aggravating thing you can do is take what little parking we have.

No problem. I actually think some don't know any better. Others don't seem to care. Thanks for thinking about us.:biggrin_25520:

I pulled into one of the smaller, older rest areas here in Ohio a few years back and was making the swing into a truck spot and at the last moment saw a car in it. As I saw there were no more spots down the line and the guy who drove the car was standing there I asked him to move to a car spot. He said he was waiting for his wife. I told him that's nice, now move. He then said he would when he #### well pleased. I said "Look, pal, there are a ton of car spots and your taking the only truck one." He said he was happy that he was blocking me and he was going to stay there as long as he wanted. Just then a Highway Patrolman came down the line, probably heard how loud the conversation was, and came to see what he could do. Right away the guy starts this story of how I was threatening him (I wasn't) and how he can park where he wants. Without saying anything to me he told the guy, who's b#### of a girlfriend had returned with her two cents, to move to a car spot or leave. He started arguing with the cop. I was able to pull into the spot next to them when that truck left. I asked the cop if I was good to use the facilities and he said yeah. When I came back out a few minutes later the guy was in handcuff being put in the cop car, the g/f was yelling her head off and the cop told her to shut up or she was next. WOHOO!! Come to find out the guy was wanted on an outstanding warrant for back child support. Dumb #####.

Just goes to prove There really is a God.
I just love it when I hear about this kind of ending to a story!

So we were sitting in one of the pilots in haggerstown md the other day. We had a spot since we'd pulled in early in the morning after a delivery. We sat and watched this woman driver with UPS overnight park and she managed to slant the trailer so that she was over the side lines on both sides. She managed to take up 3 spots in a very VERY busy lot. She got out and looked and then got back in and left it like that.

Some of you won't be surprised that this drove me INSANE and that after I watched no less than 6 drivers try in vain to park between her and us I couldn't stand it anymore. I got out and went and knocked. I told her very nicely that she'd made it impossible for anyone to use the spots next to her. Her answere was: well I'm really tired and it's easier for me to pull out in the morning on a slant.

I simply siad: "girlie MOVE the freaking truck". and left.

SHe did and a nice man across the lot tried to buy me an ice cream inside later. lol Said he watched the whole thing.

I may take forever to get in the spots but if I can do it so can the rest of the drivers.

CAN you? I STILL haven't done it between two trucks unless I can straight back. I've done a couple 45's into two empty spots though. I'm sure I could if I had to, but so far I've been able to avoid it.

Did I give that impression? Oh heavens no! I haven't even tried. I'm to scared. My confidence level in parking has hit the toilet in the last couple of weeks. I meant in spaces between spaces. Like the woman with UPS. I drive around the lot till I find 3 spaces and then park in the middle one.

I break into a sweat at the very thought. Seriously...........I have no confidence right now concerning this.

Couple weeks back after I got out of orientation I got my load and headed into Indiana. I stopped at the Pilot at exit 240 on I-65. Only spot was between a couple trucks. Well, I was nervous too! I've been driving 12 years, but it had been since August since I had even driven. And then 1.5 years since I had to back into a hole at a truck stop. Although I had some tight spots driving a gas tanker, it's a lot smaller. Plus you can see around a tank. Add on top of that I did not have my CB hooked up yet, so no help from anyone. I had to get out and look a couple times but I did it.

I would say to you two that you just need to do it. There have been many many many times in my driving career and thought "there is no way I can get in there", then low and behold, I was in the spot or dock. Confidence comes from success. Success comes from taking the chance. If you take your time and be safe I'm sure ya'll will have no problem.
