You just listen to your body. Your body will know when your craving is satisfied. When my husband first started "vaping," he got a head rush from the nicotine because it is a different type of draw. You have to draw more gently and longer, almost meditative like.
He also finds that he has it in his hands constantly and just takes a couple hits at a time, but more often. I'm thinking a lanyard would be great around his neck to have it with him at all times. It is a different experience. In other words, he's free from having to smoke for a certain period of time like you would a regular "analog" cigarette just because it's going to burn out. He feels the nicotine is more regulated this way. It's not the big up and downs like you get with a regular cigarette.
The nicotine juice itself comes in different strengths, from zero up to 36 mg. The one thing the manufacturers don't tell you is that the cartridges don't last as long as they claim. That's when we started researching where to buy online for MUCH cheaper than the brands sold at truckstops. With my husband's 901 device, he probably gets about six or seven cigarettes worth. The cartridge holds about .6 milliliter in his device. The strength is per milliliter. He's getting another device soon that will last twice as long as that as well as extra battery capacity so he doesn't have to mess with it as often, but it is longer.
I think you will find that getting a device that will accomodate empty cartridges and buying the juice bottles is a substantial savings. Just make sure you buy a device you can get replacement parts for as well.

That's what I've been trying to talk my Tex into trying.
Good question! I hadn't thought about that.

GREAT quote by Albert Camus there GA Princess...
.
"I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is." Albert CamusGAPrincess Thanks this. -
I've been cigarette free now for 51 days using mine.
The level of nicotine depends on the strength of cartridge or juice used. You can even buy nicotine free juice/cartridges if you get to that point.
The e-cig automatically shuts off. It's activated by taking a drag off of it...some have a manual button. Either way there is an automatic cut off time, most are 5 seconds, and then you must wait before you can draw again. -

I have first hand knowledge about the e-cigarette. I've been using one for about a year now. At first they were doing the job and I went smoke free for about 9 months. Then I began noticing that I was still having withdrawal symptoms and they were getting worse instead of better.
Bottom line is that the e-cig may well be the best smoking cessation device yet. The sad truth is that they are just another nicotine replacement theropathy. If you are a hard core addict like me, they won't do the job completely. There are many like me that regurlarly participate in the forum at e-cigarette-forum.com who weren't completely successful.
Many like me started adding the usage of "snus" which is a swedish snuff packaged in a pouch which you take orally. There is no spitting and it is so much safer than chewing tobacco and skoll. With the right combination of these alternative products you can quit smoking without the normal widthdrawal symptoms. -
One correction to this article is that there is no diethylene glycol in the eLiquid. There was one test run by the FDA that claims they found the diethylene in 1 of the 20 cartridges they tested. The active vapor generating agent are propolyne glycol and/or vegatable glycerine. Both of these ingredients are food grade components that most of you already ingest in your dialy lives as they are widely used in food and drinks.
I hope that these products remain available for all who need them. A lot of lives could be saved. -
These are propylene glycol. I won't be inhaling that either. If people don't want cigarettes then quit. I smoked for 18 years and frankly if I can quit, anyone with ANY amount of willpower can.
-
Just because you were able to quit doesn't make it so for everyone else. I am happy for you, but don't think that all it takes is will power. Smoking tobacco is a chemical addiction. Just because I wasn't able to quit doesn't mean that I have no will power. It is a very hard addiction to break for a very large number of people.jess-juju Thanks this.

I know it's not all willpower. I used patches. Better than inhaling the active ingredient in Miralax.
