To any who are considering a career at Schneider. Best of luck to you. I am once again sitting, waiting to pick up my load. Delivered in Iowa on Friday afternoon, was told I would probably get a load on Saturday. I was dispatched on a 182 mile trip, Saturday, that does not pick up until Monday. Sitting for 65 hours is no way to make a living. As soon as my application is approved, I am 'OUT OF HERE'!!

I am a recent CDL grad and i spoke to a Schneider recruiter about getting into their bulk division. they are hiring for bulk division...but your situation is not making me too happy...Hope things get better for yu out there....

It seems like Schneider is a great company looking at it from the outside. They claim to be all these things, professional, legal, safe, but then it seems like everybody's immediate supervisor doesn't care one bit about safety. And seeing that if anything happens it'll be your butt in prison, not his, he might as well push you as far as you will go. Now if you're ok risking prison for a few extra dollars, you'll do great there. And don't forget, they froze wages.

So if you sit for 65 hours because you can't pick up your load an earlier, does that count as two layover days? Schneider just lowered their layover pay too.
-
Yea, Friday afternoon, till Monday morning counts for 2 layover days, at $65.00 a day.

Apply for partial unemployment... I would urge all drivers with any company to do so! What is the differnece between drivers or other workers who dont get in full weeks? Start doing something about it and turn screws!
