Paid/reserved parking is a option when going someplace with not much parking. TA/Petro general have the biggest parking lot but the reserved parking kinda messed that up.

You can plan some. Like Sunday afternoon truck stop fill up for Monday deliveries. You kinda have to lean were the parking is. Like the north east is always bad. So is the north west. You can call customer and ask if they have overnight parking for driver making delivery.

You can also see about parking like 60 miles away and driving. That 60 miles in the morning. See if your company will pay for parking. I did paid parking last night 2.5 hour away from truck stop because I know this place is always full and I need a place to park. The company pays for our parking if we need it. I was stoping with driving time left for they day. They called me and said just keep driving if you can to get the extra miles and they will pay for parking.

Love's truck stop has been opening lots of new truck stops with all free parking.

Dont know why we dont get more mega stops like Iowa 80. You can have one near every major city and probably do some pretty good business. We know urban truck stops are perpetually full 24/7. Well get a good chunk of land about 60 miles outside of the city and you could probably fill up a huge lot most nights.

parking issues can be solved by letting drivers park on side of the interstates...

You make a few points here, And in a perfect world with perfect drivers,Makes sense

Things don't EVER go as planned in this business- EVER. Now..If your a drop n hooker, Sure An Elog may work (basically same start /finish times each day/same customers etc)..But In the real world Of live loading and Unloading going different places every week- It Does NOT work well.

Just Look at the Accidents- Look at all the Angry Stressed out Drivers- Look at all the Missed Appointments. And Drivers either Don't care they missed them- Or Get angry Because that Ticker made them late.

Me Personally, I'll Never Use one. I Don't have to either,But If Forced.....The Kids can take over.

Sorry, But If you Need a n Electronic Device to help dictate your day- And How to operate efficiently, Then By all Means....

The e-log has nothing to do with how your day goes.
Only difference is you cheating with your paper log.

Please stop using this as an excuse- Trust me....I don't Cheat- But I'm Not letting thaty device dictate how my day goes PERIOD.

If Im having a Late day due to your morons Blocking I-80 cause you turned one over for 3 hours..Its not going to ruin my day due to others neglegence- (And yes,You Kids block our highways daily.

If I'm an hour or 2 from home- No way in Heck is that thing going to force me to stop.

If Im Loading Late somewhere and im almost out of hours- I'm surely Not sitting there.

Think about what I'm Saying.......... So Please Stop using the ol' "Youre cheating" clique.

We Just want to do our jobs,Go Home. Simple as that. Don't put anything distracting in our way.

If I have to explain it again....You'll never understand.

  11. learn how to manage your time:
    a. nowadays assume son that the truckstop are going to be full plan on stopping before you run out of hours
    B. ask your company what kind of personal conveyance they allow if you run out of time do you have an extra 20 minutes to find parking or get someplace safe?
    C. are you working for a company where you're so poor you can't even afford 13 or $15 for a night to pay to park? I always put an extra fifty bucks on the side just for that reason each week in case I need to park that way it's covered when I run out of time I pay to park reserved spot so;
    BADA BING BADA BOOM FINITO
