I came across this on our companys website reminding us all to get
ready and keep things like logbook and paperwork current and in order.

Not sure about that. I use a standard tire depth gauge.

I've heard the same thing about the penny. I just went to a local tire shop (last one of the 5 that I went to, lol) and bought a tred depth gauge for five bucks. Actually the guy didn't know how much to charge me, had em in a drawer. Either way, now I got one. The Fed requirement is 4 and 2, 4 for the steers and 2 for everything else. I just have to remember that because SNI's requirement is 1/32 more than that....5/32 and 3/32 for swapping stuff out. Although sometimes if you are lucky, you might get a person on the phone in Green Bay who wants you to run em til metal is showing.

    Pirates with government backing.

Elementary school they told us police and firemen were our friends. I don't think we were ever supposed to feel this way when we decided to have dedicated people handle security in the country. I have to say I'm terrified of the good guys, and I'm a pretty normal to upstanding citizen. I can't afford a shakedown though.
