It depends on the crime, I have at least 3 friends that did time for murder, as far as I am concerned, they did nothing wrong.

I've never had a problem idling my truck.

I was responding to the other posters. I drive local now I always tried to make it to the receiver or ship or the night before or at least down the street. Seems like electronic logging devices have made things a little more difficult thoughMartinFromBC Thanks this.

All you do is make it to the shipper or receiver. Then do your inspection. Log off duty. You can go wherever to park and get back on time. Do it all on PC miles.
ncmickey Thanks this. -
She does, but that requires hazmat and oversize permits.Linte_Loco, starmac, tscottme and 3 others Thank this.

Gotta pick the right ramps in NC. I stay on one frequently and I have never been bothered. But it’s gravel and you are parked 30-40 feet off the roadway.
Virginia, I never park anywhere except a truck parking spot....
Most under utilized parking? Scale houses. Parked in many. Never an issue.....
A lot of good info on this thread...
In 5 years... I have found a parking spot EVERY SINGLE time I’ve needed one. Have a plan. Make sure it has at least 2 ‘2nd options’....
Everywhere I drive I’m looking for ‘hidey holes’ and spots I ‘could’ park if needed....and it’s saved me a few times...Last edited: Aug 23, 2019
