Getting a local job in south texas fresh out of cdl school.

    I looked them up and they have jobs directly in my rural town, they are the first people ill be getting ahold of once i get my license

    No I don't. Most of what I know about trucking companies I learned from reading Chinatown posts. Hes your guy!

    I took one of his recommendations for getting started and have not regretted it.

    No job is going to be perfect. There are some crazy things that leave me scratching my head but bottom line is the pay is really good and thats why Im working so I take the good and the weird and just roll with it.

    One example, we have to check our reefer temp every 3 hours even while on our 10 hour trying to sleep. I drive all hours, so when I wake up I often cant go back to sleep, my body thinks its time to work. The office folks are kind of detached from what its like out there.

    Its 2AM. "Park at a truck stop. Your trailer might get vandalized." Yeah, I'll get right on that, I'm sure lLoves has tons of spots.
