Yah, you have to be careful with those. They basically interrupt the speed signal from the speedo sensor and tell the ECM you are going slower than you actually are so you can get more RPMs and therefore more speed. There are problems. You could actually be doing 80 mph but your speedo only says 65, you have no idea you are doing 80 until the cop gives you your ticket. Also, anyone with GPS tracking is instantly busted. Also, for companies that track departure and or arrival times, like with paper-less Qual-com systems or what ever, if you are traveling too fast they will eventually figure that out by your earlier arrival times. Vehicle mileage acculmilates slower than reality, which is fraud. This device is more ideal for brokers, so be careful!

yeah watch changing the road speed on your own,, the ecm on the truck keeps tracks of what computer changed it and how many times, reports will show how fast u are going. if they do any checking at all u will get caught

You may just want a couple of frieds at randam times call in over a 3 moth period to your safty director and com plain they have been cought behind the truck and has cause a trafic conjestion problem.

It IS a safety issue. But my boss or company doesn't give a ####. All the trucks are governed at 60mph. We usually ride the middle lane. If we ride the right lane, we'd always be on the brakes for people merging onto the highway. We get cursed at on the C.B. all day long....... Drivers with no C.B. get the 1 finger salute...

I agree with leaving the truck alone, before computers, may trucking turned trucks down, the old manual way, but put epoxy on the adjuster so you couldnt tamper with it, drivers figured this out and were changing the speeds out on the road, then changing back before going back in, the lil black box tho told on them and the drivers that did that were fired, so no i would leave well enough alone unless you want to find a new job, then your employer now tells future employer why you were fired.

I plan to. Even if I learned the "code" that the Ryder mechanics use to lock in the governed road speed. Those computers needed to change the speed cost around $1,000!!!!
I'd like to go faster, but it's not worth that much to me.
Guess I'll have to buy my own truck.......
