Millis OTR journal

I have read this thread from the beginning and even though i have a little over a year before i can go out, Steelersjunkie and keen have pointed me to Millis. Thank you both for your insight into this company.

Haha ya that can be a bit intimidating at 1s . But its not as hard as it looks. If you notice the space between spots it makes the blindside alot easier! Also there is room to turn around and do sightside into the 1st dock or 2. Doesnt look like it but there is lol

Hey guys, i know it has been discussed in this thread, but i cant remember, what is the hometime policy?

 

Official policy is 1.5 days home per 7 working. They are flexible with hometime.

 

Indeed they are and that's one of the good things about them. My neighbor, who drove for PAM and Cowen back in the 90s is surprised at how often I am home for an OTR driver.

 

One of the many reasons I came back here.

 

But I like that they'll happily let you stay out here forever too if that's what you wanna do.

I appreciate that we are afforded a good bit of flexibility. Flexibility in where we fuel. Flexibility in routing. Flexibility in home time. Sometimes, even though we are forced dispatch we even get some flexibility in our freight.

How many times have you guys been sitting in Trenton on a Saturday and you're offered a choice of either taking a short run that delivers Monday morning or waiting for something better? I have several times.

 

All very true and part of what makes Millis top notch trucking firm.
