Hello Every One, This is my first time , Ever posting. I just want to tell my story with Maverick. I started with them in 10/05 And it ended in 08/06.Maverick was one of the best companys I ever worked for. I can honestly say, If you work for them , Then count your blessings. I was terminated, YES I SAID I WAS TERMINATED, I dont blame them at all. I dont blame them at all, I blame my self ,For my foolish two second misstake, YES I SAID TWO SECONDS.That all it took, Two end my career with Maverick. It happened on a Monday Morning, In Missiouri, I was heading East on I-44, It was raining and my load of Lumber was tarped, I noticed in the mirror, That the tarp had come loose ,On the back part of the driver side, So i exited off the highway to fix the tarp. I pulled in to a parkinglot, That was lit up, So I could fix the tarp, After I fixed the tarp,I got back into the truck, I noticed that the Qualcom Unit had a message on it. So I picked up the qualcom unit to read the message, After i read the message, I laid the qualcom down in the floor, In stead of putting of putting it back in the holder, I then proceeded to pull ouf of the parkinglot, Coming out of the parkinglot I hit a deep chughole,It nocked my coffee cup out of the cup holder, On to the qualcom, Spilling coffee on it, By I noticed this, I was out on to the street, Heading in to a SHARP LEFT HAND TURN, This is where my ,Driving Career for Maverick came to a end. I took my EYE'S OFF THE ROAD FOR TWO SECONDS, Two pick up $1.25 cup of coffee. BY doing this ,I Pulled on the steering wheel to the right. Cutting the turn to short, And that caused the trailer to cut back to fast, And that caused the trailer to drop off the side of the road,On to its back axle. Then the truck came to stop, At his time not knoeing what had happened, I started the truck back up, And tried to take off, Then the truck, Started to raise up ,On its right side, And the nexy thing I know, The truck and trailer is laying on its driver side. So please driver;s dont think that it wont happen to me, Cause I am living proof that it can. Again I dont Blame Maverick. I blame my self. For not stopping the truck, And picking that $1.25 cup of coffee off of the qualcom. I still drive today, But the damage is all ready done , It shows up on my DAC REPORT, I still to this day replay that wreck in my mind all the time. I only think god that no one was hurt in that Wreck. I can honestly say that Maverick will teach you everything, To be safe out there, It is up to you to take advantage of it. In closing all I can say is this, LIFE IS ALL ABOUT CHOICES , And that early August Morning back in 2006, Was one of the worst decisions I ever made. Thanks for your time.

Good luck...
Great company to work for in my experience...
It don't look like I'm gonna make it home this weekend though because I had a flat on the trailer and they took my "home load" away from me. I couldn't have made it to Ft. Smith in time to get loaded anyway...not after the mechanics took their own sweet time fixing my flat.
"Thats truck drivin"...
So...here I sit in Tulsa, OK... all dressed up with no place to go -
I pass by Maverick quite often in my job w/Tango, and lately a lot of brand-spanking new Freightliners have been showing up. Are these just replacements or are they gearing for a hiring mini-spree?
-
Replacements...they are hiring though, just enough to maintain the # of drivers they want (about 1,000 I think).
Those new Cascadia's are nice aren't they...EPU's and all the comforts. -
thank you for being a man about it and not blaming the co. Don,t see that much of that these days.
The Challenger, Ridgerunner665 and notarps4me Thank this.
